Church Cantors

Our cantors lead us in worship in the active dialogue of sung prayer we call Divine Liturgy. We unite our voices in prayer when we gather together in community.

We are in need of more cantors for our mission! If you feel called to this ministry, please fill out the below form or talk with our current cantor Loretta Fernandez after Liturgy for more information.

Need more information about cantoring? We’ve got you covered.

The Byzantine Archeparchy of Pittsburgh hosts a website complete with recordings of all the parts of the Divine Liturgy, as well as online classes for those interested in becoming a cantor.

Recordings for all parts of the Divine Liturgy can be found here

Remember Matthew 13:31-32:

31 Another parable he put before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field; 32 it is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”
